Cleveland Clinic named ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year
ENERGY STAR has over 20,000 partners all of whom are working to promote business practices and activities to save energy and protect the environment, the article stated.
Health care organizations usually spend a staggering $8.8 billion dollars on energy per year, which is four percent of the country''s entire energy use, the article noted.
"Hospital leadership has made energy awareness and waste reduction a top priority, and we have seen some excellent results. We avoided $4 million in costs in 2010 due to energy efficiency gains throughout our hospital system," said Cleveland Clinic Chief of Operations Bill Peacock.
