Ashkin group release 12.16

December 16, 2010
Industry Reminder: Public Comment on LEED-EBOM Revisions Available on Ashkin Group Web Site
Chicago, IL - AlturaSolutions Communications is reminding members of the professional cleaning industry that they have until the end of this month to comment on the U.S. Green Building Council''s (USGBC) revisions to Version 3 LEED-EBOM (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-Existing Buildings Operations and Maintenance).
LEED-EBOM is designed to help building owners and managers measure building operations, including cleaning and maintenance issues, with the goal of maximizing efficiency while minimizing the environmental impact of the facility.
Many of the revisions currently being reviewed by USGBC will likely become prerequisites scheduled to be put into place in the next 12 to 24 months.
To assist the industry, The Ashkin Group has developed a special Web site allowing cleaning professionals to comment on the suggested revisions. That site is located at www.ashkinleedeb.com.
"LEED-EBOM is vital for our industry and the health of our customers," says Robert Kravitz, President of AlturaSolutions Communications. "And because cleaning and maintenance issues are paramount for those facilities seeking LEED-EBOM certification, it is important that professionals in our industry make their voices heard on these issues now."
