Activeion appoints new chief executive officer

ROGERS, MN — Activeion today announced the hiring of John C. Walden as chief executive officer (CEO), effective immediately. Walden will also become a member of Activeion''s board of directors, according to a press release.
Thomas Denison, co-founder and non-executive chairman of the company, noted: "John Walden''s ... successful track record of innovation, growth and managing complex businesses, and his deep experience with multiple distribution channels will be put to good use at Activeion. With his leadership, we will build upon our initial success and bring to a broader market our breakthrough products for chemical-free cleaning."
Prior to joining Activeion, Walden had a successful 15-year career in retailing and consumer services. He served as executive vice president and chief customer officer at Sears Holdings Corporation where he managed its hardlines businesses, marketing, internet channels and the home services businesses, the release noted.
