NASHUA, NH — Extensive water damage occurred to the former
Nashua Corporation building after the sprinkler system malfunctioned and caused a pipe to burst on New Year''s eve, according to the
Nashua Telegraph.
The former Nashua Corporation building was vacant, but the water that cascaded from the fifth floor of the six-story building flooded the public defender''s office located next door, the story stated.
Cleanup crews from
ServiceMaster anticipate working well into this week repairing damaged materials and removing water-soaked asbestos fibers from the structure, the story noted.
ServiceMaster branch owner Alan DeGeorge said: "Our primary function is to dry the building out and make sure going forward there''s no moisture or mold issues."
It is unknown how much the cleanup costs for the 70,000-square-foot building will add up to at this time, the story added.
