New contract ratified by district and staff
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — After nearly a year of negotiations, the Barrington Area Unit District 220 board has ratified a new contract for support staff, including yearly 2 percent pay increases, according to the Daily Herald.
The Barrington School Employees Organization ratified the three-year agreement last month, the article stated.
According to the article, the pay increase is retroactive to July 1, 2013, when the previous contract expired.
"This package exemplifies the value placed on our classified staff by the Barrington 220 community, which the Board of Education represents," said school board President Brian Battle in a statement.
"These individuals play a vital role in supporting our instructional mission, and we appreciate their service to the school district," Battle added.
