University closed due to norovirus
LOS ANGELES — Earlier this week, the CalArts Facilities staff was hard at work disinfecting and cleaning the Institute's offices, classrooms, rehearsal spaces, common areas and outbuildings, according to SCVNews.
The cleaning measures were taken in order to rein in the spread of last week’s rash of stomach illnesses that the LADPH has said appears consistent with a virus like the norovirus, the article stated.
According to the article, the CalArts Administration kept the campus closed through the end-of-day Tuesday, November 5, so that the crews were given ample time to finish a thorough cleaning.
All non-resident students, faculty and non-essential staff were asked to stay off campus through Tuesday, the article noted.
