Best Western's Mike Nalley Ascends to The Healthy Facilities Institute (HFI) Advisory Board

BOISE, ID — Mike Nalley, with almost 30 years of experience in the hospitality field, is senior manager of education and training at Best Western International (BWI), consisting of more than 4,200 properties in 110 countries.  He oversees eight dedicated trainers who travel North America and the world - aided by BWI’s learning management system (LMS) that supports training through online modules, video and other resources - teaching about 94,000 BWI-member property owners, managers and line staff to operate and market their hotels effectively with customer-service a top priority.
 
Mike helps lead BWI’s “I CARE” customer service program, which features leading-edge housekeeping measures such as use of Ultraviolet (UV)-light sanitation wands, clean remotes, and other interventions. The I CARE program has been instrumental in keeping guest satisfaction scores high.  Mike has also guided BWI into developing state-of-the-art healthful housekeeping practices and training in connection with the OH-based nonprofit IEHA (formerly the International Executive Housekeepers Association, founded in 1930).
 
Mike has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, a Master of Arts in Organizational Management, and is pursuing a Doctorate in Business Management.  He is a Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA), Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) and Certified Hospitality Trainer (CHT) through the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA), and is an accredited certification instructor through AH&LA’s Educational Institute, and a member of AH&LA’s certification commission and training, education advisory commission.
