Contractor receives failing grade
GAINESVILLE, GA — At a meeting Monday night, the Gainesville City School Board had a "bone to pick" with the janitorial contracting service that took over the responsibility of cleaning city schools on July 1, according to Access North Georgia.
The dissatisfaction took Regional Operations Manager for Southern Management Cory Crane off guard as he appeared to be unaware of the problems, the article stated.
According to the article, Crane was filling in for the manager who had unexpectedly resigned just days earlier; Crane was not informed of the scope of the complaints that had arisen regarding the janitorial service.
Chairwoman Maria Calkins and other members of the board cited a survey they had circulated among school principals and administrative staff members regarding their experiences with the contractor’s janitorial services; that survey showed overall dissatisfaction with Southern Management, the article noted.
