A beginner’s guide to stadium cleaning

September 13, 2013

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ — While some people struggle to clean up after themselves, Henry Rzemieniewski has the job of cleaning up after 80,000 people, according to The Star-Ledger.

Rzemieniewski, the cleaning operations manager at MetLife Stadium, and his crew of almost 200 workers are responsible for the stadium's 2.1 million square feet of floor area after the Jets or the Giants or Bon Jovi play the stadium, the article stated.

According to the article, since starting at MetLife Stadium, Rzemieniewski has tried to make cleaning the stadium more sustainable, working with vendors to make sure all of the trash in the seating area is either recyclable or compostable.

On Thursday, Rzemieniewski led a tour of the stadium to about 150 customers of Tennant Company, a Minnesota company that creates much of the cleaning equipment used at the facility, in order to show off its new equipment and technology, the article noted.
