Recognize the best of the best with school janitor of the year contest
CINCINNATI — Cintas Corporation would like to shine a spotlight on those who work behind the scenes year-round to make schools a clean, safe and positive place, according to a press release.
On September 9, Cintas launched its first Janitor of the Year contest to recognize the best-of-the-best amongst elementary, middle and high school janitors, the release stated.
According to the release, the winner of the contest will be crowned on December 12 and receive a $2,500 cash prize, and the school will also receive $2,500 in Cintas products and services.
"Having great school janitors can lead to healthier students and healthier employees. Janitors not only improve the well-being of students and staff, but many go above and beyond their daily work to make schools a better and safer place to learn and work," said Dave Mesko, senior director of marketing and strategy at Cintas.
Cintas’ Janitor of the Year contest is open to all elementary, middle and high school janitors who have worked at their school for at least two years; nominations must be 1,000 words or less on why the janitor is deserving of the award, the release noted.
Nominations will be accepted online and via e-mail at JanitorOfTheYear@Cintas.com through October 30, the release added.
