Courthouse employees to clean their own spaces
WACO, TX — If a proposed janitorial cut is approved, county courthouse employees could be required to taken on a little extra work, according to the Waco Tribune.
Precinct 4 Commissioner Ben Perry’s proposal would see courthouse employees becoming responsible for cleaning their own offices and work areas, and county inmates cleaning common areas in the courthouse, the article stated.
According to the article, the shift to in-house responsibilities could save the county more than $50,000 per year.
The county currently pays an outside contractor more than $120,000 a year for janitorial services, the article noted.
