ABM awarded Virginia schools energy contract
NEW YORK — ABM has announced that its ABM Building Services business has been selected by Orange County, Virginia, Public Schools to implement division-wide energy and infrastructure upgrades to the educational institution through ABM's Bundled Energy Solutions Program, according to a press release.
The project is expected to significantly improve the schools' learning environment as a result of lighting, heating, cooling and indoor air quality (IAQ) upgrades, while saving Orange County Public Schools an estimated $9.3 million in energy and operating costs over 15 years, the release stated.
According to the release, ABM's Bundled Energy Solutions Program is designed as a financial solution to meet clients' technical facility needs and sustainability goals.
"ABM's Bundled Energy Solutions Program provides a long term and sustainable solution for Orange County Public Schools that will benefit the school for several decades," said Scott Giacobbe, president of ABM Building & Energy Solutions.
"We understand the budgetary constraints schools are under, and our BES program has been able to help a number of our educational clients make critical infrastructure upgrades without burdening taxpayers," Giacobbe added.
The project is expected to reduce the school's utility costs by 32 percent over 15 years, the release noted.
