MINOT, ND — In order to celebrate yesterday's Earth Day, the students, faculty and staff of Minot State University made an effort to clean up the campus, according to the Minot Daily News.
Dubbed Campus Indoor Cleanup Day, the event took place within the Student Center, and featured vendor displays promoting recycling and green initiatives, the article stated.
According to the article, students, faculty and staff were encouraged to take the time to clean out their offices and dorms, bringing paper, plastics or aluminum to a designated recycling center.
Gretchen Ingledue, custodial supervisor and president of the Sustainability Committee at Minot State University, said they were encouraging anyone on campus to clean up their offices and recycle as much as possible, the article noted.
"I would like to see it more mandated to recycle here in the state because I hate to see the landfills fill up. I hope to see students take a lot of the information with them because they are our future and can carry on," said Ingledue.
