It's a dirty job but someone's gotta do it
FULLERTON, CA — By 1:30 a.m., when some are just getting to bed, Isaias Hernandez is getting up to start his day as one of Cal State Fullerton's head custodians, according to the Daily Titan.
There are roughly 60 people that work under custodial services on campus, with all custodians assigned permanent buildings to work on, where they do a variety of duties that range from cleaning restrooms, offices and classrooms, the article stated.
According to the article, there are plenty of times, however, that the cleaning goes past these common duties because of surprises left by students around campus out of either carelessness or foolish fun.
Despite the fact that most of the students are already over 18-years-old and should know better, they tend to do things that kids who wouldn’t know any better would do, the article noted.
Despite these challenges, the custodians take pride and find enjoyment in what they do, with a lot of the success due to the type of people that are hired, the article added.
