WICHITA, KS — Two eighth graders from Truesdell Middle School were arrested after being involved in a fight that sent a staff member to the hospital, according to KWCH-TV.
The fight, which occurred after lunchtime on Wednesday afternoon, caused school administrators to call the police and put the school on lockdown, the article stated.
According to the article, two teen boys kicked and punched a custodian who tried to intervene in the fight; the custodian was taken to the hospital with a split lip and abrasions on his head.
"It might have started off as playful, there was a staff member that intervened, thinking it could have got escalated and in the process unfortunately what happened, happened and it turned ugly," said Pancho Bustos, assistant principal.
