District remembers slain custodian
AMERICAN CANYON, CA — Longtime Donaldson Way Elementary School head custodian, Jeanette Ross, is being remembered by grieving coworkers for her positive attitude in life, work ethic and faith in God, according to The American Canyon Eagle.
On March 3, Ross was discovered insider her home, dead of gunshot wounds, a victim of an apparent murder/suicide, the article stated.
According to the article, Ross's daughter and son-in-law are also custodians in the Napa Valley Unified School District.
Since the news broke, a Napa Valley youth group, the Napa Saints, and staff at the elementary school have been raising money to help Ross's family with funeral costs, the article noted.
Ross, known as "Miss Jeanette" to students, started working with the Napa Valley Unified School District in November 1994, and was promoted to head custodian at Donaldson Way in August 1999, the article added.
