School shut down by norovirus
WEST NEWBURY, MA — Pentucket Regional High School custodians worked around the clock to decontaminate the building after hundreds of students were dismissed early last Thursday, according to KSEE-TV.
Nearly 150 students went home early, complaining of a stomach illness, the article stated.
According to the article, the Massachusetts Department of Health indicated that a large number of students at Pentucket Regional High School have the norovirus.
About 20 percent of students showed symptoms of the gastrointestinal virus, the article noted.
