DAVENPORT, IA — The Davenport School Districts held several public forums to discuss option to outsource certain services, according to the Quad-City Times.
In order to trim the district's budget, the board is entertaining the idea of outsourcing nurses, janitors and security guards, the article stated.
According to the article, Kevin Hodson, who has been a janitor with the district for 30 years, insisted that no janitorial company could provide all of the services that regular school janitors provide without the district spending a lot more money.
"The district will end up paying through the nose for services beyond emptying trash cans, mopping floors and dusting," said Hodson.
