Housekeeping at hospital privatized
TALLAHASSEE, FL — Tuesday marked the beginning of a more than $3 million contract with a Connecticut company to provide housekeeping services at the Northeast State Hospital, according to the Tallahassee.
The contract was officially signed on January 3, and was expected to affect more than 30 positions at the hospital, the article stated.
According to the article, the contract was signed with Owens, Renz and Lee Company Inc., and will expire in January 2017.
The exact cost of the OR& L Co. contract may fluxuate, as it is tied to how many people they employ: If a position is vacant more than 30 days, the company will deduct the pay plus benefits from their monthly invoice to the state, the article noted.
