Wednesday’s Question:ICANATEX Logo

When it comes to stripping and finishing floors, I notice the answers sometimes include the words, "percent of solids."

What does this mean?

Wednesday’s Answer:

strip and refinishWith floor finish, percent of solids refers to the amount of non-volatile materials (18 to 25 percent) in the solution that will remain to form a film on the tile after the liquids have evaporated.

The higher the solids content, the more finish is actually deposited each time the floor is coated and dries.
