BOISE, ID — The Healthy Facilities Institute (HFI) and the non-profit Process Cleaning for Healthy Schools (PC4HS) are urging school facilities to heed the counsel of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in preventing flu both through vaccination and by proper cleaning and disinfecting, according to a press release.
Cleaning and disinfecting are part of a broad approach to preventing infectious diseases in schools, where the first line of defense is getting vaccinated, the release stated.
Other measures include covering coughs and sneezes, washing hands and keeping sick people away from others, the release noted.
