Airport cleaner returns lost gadget, money
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — A cleaning service worker at Florida's Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport found an iPad — with $13,000 stuffed in its case — and turned it in, according to WTVJ-TV.
Even more noteworthy is the fact that the cleaner, Patrick Morgan, was rewarded for his honesty and promptly gave away his reward to two people in need, the article stated.
According to the article, Morgan was on the job when he spotted an iPad that had been left behind in the terminal.
"I opened it first, and I saw all the money, and I quickly closed it back up," said Morgan, of Patrick's Cleaning Service.
After Morgan alerted authorities of his find, the owner of the device came back for it and gave Morgan a small reward for his honesty; Morgan then gave part of the money to a homeless woman and the other part to a struggling coworker, the article noted.
His honesty was honored at a ceremony held on Wednesday, at which Morgan said, "It's just a good feeling to know that I returned it and that's the bottom line. I wasn't looking for anything."
