MT. PLEASANT, MI — Mt. Pleasant Public Schools anticipates seeking new bids from private building maintenance companies to perform custodial work in the district's 10 buildings, according to The Morning Sun.
The current contract, held by Grand Rapids Building Services (GRBS), who took over the maintenance of district buildings three years ago, will expire at the end of this year, the article stated.
According to the article, GRBS offered Mt. Pleasant Schools a $15,000 credit and a promise to not increase prices for three years if the school district renewed their current contract; board members, however, want to see the results a bidding process could have.
"Taking everything into consideration, I don't see why we shouldn’t go out for bids," said board member Don Chiodo.
