CINCINNATI — xpedx has been awarded the ENERGY STAR at its locations in Dallas, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Nashville, Tennessee and Pewaukee, Wisconsin, according to a press release.
xpedx, an "ENERGY STAR partner," set a goal to earn the certification in nine of its facilities within 2012, and has surpassed that mark with 10 facilities recognized this year, the release stated.
According to the release, Dallas, Nashville, Grand Rapids and Pewaukee sites earned the ENERGY STAR by scoring in the top 25 percent of similar facilities nationwide for energy efficiency, based on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) energy performance rating system.
"xpedx has now surpassed its goal for certifying ENERGY STAR facilities for the second straight year, further validating our commitment to become a more sustainable business," said David Wallace, xpedx's director of sustainability.
