Yes, and the fact that each machine is used for different procedures.
A standard rotary floor machine operates at 175 RPM.Some may run at higher speeds of up to 1,250 RPM.
A burnisher runs at 1,500 to 2,500 RPM (as defined in Institue of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) courses).
