OAKBROOK, IL — Clarke, a global environmental products and services company, has been honored by the Illinois Sustainable Technology Center (ISTC) with the Governor's Sustainability Award, recognizing its commitment to environmental excellence, according to a press release.
The award is given to companies that demonstrate outstanding and innovative sustainability practices, the release stated.
"Clarke has shown that it is possible to create and maintain conditions under which people and the environment can exist in productive harmony and fulfill the social and economic requirements of present and future generations," said Manohar Kulkarni, ISTC director.
According to the release, in recent years, Clarke has pioneered innovative advancements in the areas of mosquito control and aquatic weed control, with a company-wide commitment to green initiatives.
In 2010, Clarke was honored with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Presidential Green Chemistry Award for its introduction of a new OMRI-listed larvicide, Natular, for use around organic farms and environmentally sensitive areas, the release noted.
