OAKLAND, CA — Healthcare professionals know that the fall season also means the start of norovirus season, with most cases occurring between November and April in the U.S., according to a press release.
Since norovirus is extremely contagious, outbreaks are especially harrowing for hospitals and long-term care facilities, which account for more than 25 percent of all U.S. outbreaks, according to a 2010 study in the American Journal of Infection Control, the release stated.
To equip healthcare professionals with the educational tools they need to help prevent and contain norovirus outbreaks in their facilities, Clorox Healthcare created the Norovirus Prevention Toolkit, the release noted.
