Storm shelter harbors norovirus
NEW YORK — Nearly a dozen people evacuated from their homes by Superstorm Sandy have contracted norovirus in one of the city's shelters, according to The Wall Street Journal.
On Tuesday, Mayor Bloomberg confirmed the sicknesses at Brooklyn's John Jay High School and emphasized that no one was severely ill, the article stated.
According to the article, the school had been expected to reopen Wednesday, but it will now stay closed until Thursday while workers clean and disinfect it.
Shelter residents are being moved to another location, while officials take measures to stop the spread, the article noted.
