Hospital coffee shop hit by norovirus
MONTRÉAL — A coffee shop at the Jewish General Hospital remained closed on Monday after more than 40 hospital staff members fell ill with norovirus, according to a the Montréal Gazette.
The hospital suspects that the staff may have contracted norovirus after eating food prepared by the in-house catering service that operates in the Café de L'Atrium, the article stated.
According to the article, as of Friday afternoon, no patients or members of the public appeared to have been infected by the contagious bug.
The outbreak forced the hospital to close its neurology department for a half-day on Thursday and all day Friday, the article noted.
