NORCROSS, GA — Travis Carter, director of sustainability for Unisource Global Solutions (UGS) has been named to the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) Board of Directors for a two-year term, according to a press release.
BPI is a professional association of key individuals and groups from government, industry and academia that promotes the use and recycling of biodegradable polymeric materials, the release stated.
According to the release, Carter, along with 15 other BPI board members across North America, will be responsible for directing BPI's education efforts to the general public.
Education consists of product standards, set and verified by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) in accordance with the U.S. Composting Council, and how those standards are positively impacting the future of our environment, the release noted.
"As a representative of UGS, I am honored to be a board member for BPI, where a strong focus is placed on setting and verifying standards that protect our environment and composting systems," said Carter.
