Maintenance companies negotiating mutually beneficial contract
CINCINNATI — The Cincinnati Area Contractors Association continues to work toward a negotiated agreement covering their local janitorial employees, according to the Enquirer Herald.
The maintenance contractors are currently attempting to negotiate a new agreement with the Chicago-based Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 1, the article stated.
According to the article, the existing contract was extended until October 31, 2012, and the parties resume negotiations today.
"We are committed to reaching an agreement in the mutual best interest of all parties — including employees, customers and contract cleaning companies alike," said Tim Reilly, chief negotiator for the Cincinnati Area Contractors Association.
"We are hard at work at the bargaining table to resolve this expeditiously and properly," Reilly added.
