Unique candidate inducted into Hall of Fame
KLAMATH FALLS, OR — Hip Largent may be one of the most unique people to be inducted into the Klamath Union athletic Hall of Fame, according to the Herald and News.
On Friday, Largent, who passed away a few years ago, was added to the Hall of Fame as a contributor, the article stated.
According to the article, many believe that Largent, the custodian of the athletic facility for a number of years, could be the number one contributor to the Pelican athletics program despite being known mostly to students.
"He was a great guy. If someone lost something, he was the person who would know where to find it," said long-time local broadcaster Bobby Thompson, himself a KU grad.
Largent was more than a custodian for the facility, he was the person who cared for the weight room and who washed physical education and sports team laundry, the article noted.
