Air Cycle Corporation
The Bulb Eater from Air Cycle was named a "2012 Money-Saving Product" by Buildings magazine. The Bulb Eater, which can reduce lamp recycling costs by 50 percent or more, holds up to 1,350 four-foot fluorescent lamps in one 55-gallon drum, effectively reducing storage space requirements for the same quantity of boxed lamps by 80 percent. It can crush four-foot fluorescent lamps in 1 second, and the crushed material is 100 percent recyclable. Because the process captures over 99.99 percent of mercury vapors, it is compliant with both the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
