Cleaner hospitals could lead to cost savings
HATTISBURG, MS — The City of Hattiesburg and Gaddy Janitorial and Floor Care held a summit to teach hospitals and clinics the benefits of a clean and safe environment, according to WHLT-TV.
Experts explained how by scoring an "A" rating on cleaning and infection prevention, hospitals and clinics could earn higher customer satisfaction ratings and more money, the article stated.
According to the article, hospitals can be reimbursed for their Medicaid and Medicare expenses based on their Healthy Communities Access Program (H-CAP) score.
"A part of that scoring system has another added component which is the cleanliness, the safety and the quietness of the environment," said Haile Gaddy, president of Gaddy Janitorial and Floor Care.
Patients have the opportunity to grade their hospital or care facility through questionnaires, the article noted.
