The facility was scheduled to reopen this past summer, but city officials decided to make additional repairs and upgrades to the building while it was closed, the story stated.
Aside from mold remediation efforts conducted by Indoor Air Professionals Inc., other repairs to the building included elevating the basement floor to accommodate a larger sump pump and moving walls and counters to make the station more functional, the story noted.
The cost of the repairs and upgrades to the 17,000-square-foot building totaled upwards of $700,000, the story added.
