Athens, GA – Larry M Gill, CPA and Paul Davis Restoration and Remodeling of Northeast Georgia president and owner, recently received certification as qualified personnel from the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) for Construction Activities and issued by the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission and administered by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. The certification authorizes Gill to perform duties relating to land disturbance as a builder, developer or consultant.
According to Gill, the certification process included coursework and examinations on best management practices and permitting required by rules and regulations governing land-disturbing activity. “As qualified personnel, one must follow the laws which regulate land-disturbing activity and which is defined as any activity that may result in soil erosion from water or wind and the movement of sediments into state water or onto lands within the state,” said Gill. “The certification also includes clearing, dredging, grading, buffers, excavating, transporting, and filling of land and some agricultural practices, among others,” he said.
