CHICAGO — The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has scheduled an informal stakeholder meetings to solicit comments and suggestions for protecting workers from combustible dust hazards, according to Reliable Plant.
Two meetings are scheduled for Wednesday, April 21 at 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O''Hare Hotel and Conference Center, the story stated.
Interested individuals must register and submit a notice of intent no later than Wednesday, April 7, the story noted.
According to the story, combustible dusts are solids ground into fine particles of metal, wood, paper, plastic, sugar, etc., that can cause a fire or explosion when suspended in air under certain conditions.
Following the meeting, OSHA will consider participants'' comments in developing a proposed standard for combustible dust, the story added.
