Sanitaire Commercial Names General Manager
David Parkes has been named general manager of Electrolux''s Commercial division, a new position.
Parkes, who has held a number of district and national sales and management positions at Electrolux Home Care Products since he joined the company in 1989, has served on numerous product development teams and has worked with many national trade partners during his 20-year tenure at the company.
Parkes'' appointment consolidates key functions within Sanitaire, including product development, sales and marketing and provides further support for the newly expanded sales team and sales management infrastructure at the company.
Hill & Markes Welcomes Jason Packer
Hill & Markes Inc. is pleased to announce the hiring of Jason Packer as business development specialist for the Northeast distributor.
Packer, a third-generation family member with Hill & Markes who worked in a variety of part-time roles with the company during high school, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in policy studies from Syracuse University and earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from American University.
Packer''s new position as business development specialist was developed as a strategic move for Hill & Markes to expand their market presence.

SCA Establishes Tork Green Hygiene Council
Tork®, an SCA Tissue North America brand, recently announced that the company has formed the Tork Green Hygiene Council (TGHC) — a panel of four experts that will provide perspective and advice on how to create sustainable and healthy environments, both at work and home.
The TGHC consists of: David Gottfried, founder of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and chief executive officer (CEO) of Regenerative Ventures Inc.; Joshua Radoff, co-founder and principal of VRG Sustainability Consultants; Dr. Allison Aiello, assistant professor of epidemiology at the University of Michigan; and Donna Duberg, assistant professor of clinical laboratory science at Saint Louis University.
Kimberly-Clark Professional Launches Sustainability Program
Kimberly-Clark Professional recently launched a sustainability campaign called, "Reduce Today, Respect Tomorrow," which takes a bigger-picture approach to environmental sustainability and is the first truly global communications campaign developed by the company.
The central premise of the "Reduce Today, Respect Tomorrow" campaign is that focusing only on 100 percent recycled fiber content does not address the total picture, nor is it the best approach to environmental sustainability.
Superior product performance that allows customers to use less and waste less is a key component of the program as well as Kimberly-Clark Professional''s business strategy for a more sustainable future.
Georgia-Pacific Earns 2009 SFI Award
Georgia-Pacific Corporation has been recognized for its efforts in increasing understanding of the Sustainable Forest Initiative® (SFI) fiber sourcing program and how it supports family forest owners across North America.
Under Sustainable Forestry Initiative fiber sourcing certification, companies like Georgia-Pacific must have an auditable procurement process for fiber they buy from these lands and, among other things: Encourage landowners to reforest areas that have been harvested; use best management practices to protect water quality; identify and protect important habitat elements for wildlife, including critically imperiled and imperiled species and communities; and use the services of qualified resource and logging professionals.

Enviro-Solutions Introduces E-Learning Program
Enviro-Solutions Ltd. recently completed an online meeting with members of their sales force throughout North America, introducing the company''s new E-Learning program.
The program, which enables participants to receive training when and where they want and allows them to study what they want at their own pace, allows managers to track and evaluate how well their staff members are doing with the program.
The E-Learning program covers 35 topics, about 20 courses and encompasses more than 100 modules; each module includes a quiz so participants can test their knowledge.
