Jason Crawford wins CMM survey giveaway

The staff of CM/Cleaning & Maintenance Management® magazine would like to congratulate Jason Crawford, director of environmental services for Crouse Hospital, Syracuse, New York, for winning the $100 Visa® Gift Card giveaway that was part of an online editorial survey.

When asked what he will do with the money, Crawford said: "We accept donations from vendors and various other sources to distribute to outstanding employees during our environmental services appreciation week."

Spartan Chemical appoints regional manager

Josh Moore has been appointed to the position of regional manager for Spartan''s Mississippi region.

Moore, a graduate of Westminster College who has relocated to Mississippi from Kansas City, Missouri, replaced Alfred Whitaker upon his retirement.

Pak-It hires vice president of operations

Pak-It LLC, a division of DCL Solutions, has hired Ron Kurp as the company''s vice president of operations and technical director.

Kurp has over 24 years of experience in research and development, manufacturing and commercialization of industrial and consumer products for the JanSan market.

NCL educates distributors

National Chemical Laboratories recently held a three-day intensive distributor training session as a part of its NCL University program.

Held at the company''s 8,000-square-foot training center in Philadelphia, the program focused on product knowledge, updates on NCL healthy, green cleaning initiatives and included hands-on procedures and classroom instruction for floor care, stone care, restroom sanitation, carpet care and other sanitary maintenance programs offered by the company.

USGBC-approved sustainability workshop

The new sustainability workshop from The Ashkin Group, "The Operational Approach to Sustainability," has been accepted into the U.S. Green Building Council''s (USGBC) Education Provider Program.

The half-day workshop is designed to help organizations become more sustainable and has four exercises, including: Defining sustainability; understanding the three components of sustainability (environmental, social and economic); identifying sustainability indicators; and developing a prioritized "action plan" to implement a sustainable program.
