The von Drehle Corporation hires new regional director of sales
John Ferraro has joined the company as western region director of sales.
Ferraro is a graduate of Illinois State University and has nearly 18 years of sales management experience in the industry.
Ferraro brings with him a wealth of knowledge which will be instrumental in helping to expand von Drehle''s towel and tissue sales in the western U.S.
He will be focusing his efforts on working with von Drehle''s dedicated sales force to support existing customers and develop new business in the region.
APC Filtration Inc. names new North American VP
Robert Gail will work from the St. Louis, MO, office and will be responsible for OEM and Aftermarket Air and Liquid Filter Sales.
Gail''s extensive background in the commercial industry began over 27 years ago with Newell Rubbermaid and most recently as president of Continental Commercial Products, a Katy Industries Inc. company.
Wausau Paper names new VP of sales and marketing
Eric Leines has been promoted to vice president, sales and marketing for the company''s towel and tissue business unit.
The promotion of Leines, presently vice president, sales for the unit was effective December 1, 2008.
Leines joined Wausau Paper in 1991 and has held a series of roles of increasing responsibility with the company''s towel and tissue sales and marketing organization.
As a graduate of Wake Forest, he received his B.A. and had a double major in economics and history.
Following college, he served as an officer in the U.S. Navy.
UGL Unicco hires new director of business development
Gregory Falahee has joined the company as director of business development for office services.
In his new role, Falahee will focus on enhancing UGL Unicco''s office services by formulating best strategies for exploring new opportunities and adding value to current client relationships.
He will also lead the company''s involvement in key associations and industry groups.
Falahee, who lives in Sudbury, MA, holds a B.S. in business and public policy from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN.

EPA recognizes ISSA and select member companies as environmental leaders
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recognized ISSA and more than 30 of its member companies as environmental leaders under the Design for the Environment (DfE) Program''s Safer Detergent Stewardship Initiative (SDSI) at a formal ceremony held last November in Washington, D.C.
The SDSI recognizes environmental leaders that voluntarily commit to or otherwise promote the use of safer surfactants.

NCL partners with EPA for Safer Detergents Stewardship Initiative
National Chemical Laboratories Inc. announced its intention to remove all bio-accumulative surfactant systems from all cleaning and maintenance chemical formulations over the next 36 months.
This announcement is made in conjunction with NCL''s recently awarded Partner Recognition Status with the U.S. EPA''s Design for the Environment Safer Detergents Stewardship Initiative (SDSI).
According to the company''s release, since 1994, NCL has spearheaded efforts to provide the sanitary maintenance industry with products that minimize impact on both human health and the environment.

Largest school district in North America goes green
The Kawartha Pine Ridge School District is the largest in North America to fully adopt green cleaning practices. Enviro-Solutions won the contract to supply the district with green cleaning supplies after being picked from a long list of possible manufacturers.
The Kawartha Pine Ridge School District has more than 4.5 million square feet of space and uses nearly 90,000 gallons of cleaning chemicals annually.
