Aetna Building Maintenance VP receives recognition
Doug Chapman is now one of more than 43,000 Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professionals (LEED-APs). This professional accreditation is just one example of Aetna Building Maintenance''s ongoing effort to be a more environmentally conscience company, according to a company press release.

LEED Professional Accreditation distinguishes building professionals with the knowledge and skills to successfully steward the LEED certification process. LEED Accredited Professionals have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles and the LEED rating system.

eCommerce Industries (ECi) names new president
Ron Books has been named president of ECi. Books has been with ECi for almost a decade, spending the majority of that time working directly with the independent dealers and distributors trying to understand the specific business and software needs across their highly specialized markets.

He has chaired many of the past ECi dealer advisory conferences and, over the years, has spoken to and met with thousands of independent dealers and distributors.

Aetna Building Maintenance president elected to BSCAI''s Board of Directors
Paul Greenland has been elected to the Building Service Contractors Association International (BSCAI) Board of Directors.

Greenland has been active with BSCAI for 20 years, and has held several positions within the organization. He has served as a seminar leader, membership recruitment committee member and as a speaker at various BSCAI events.

WAXIE Sanitary Supply welcomes three
WAXIE Sanitary Supply is proud to welcome three new members to their Northern California division in Livermore, CA: Bruce Schilling, former CEO and owner of August Supply and industry veterans Paul Chairez and Francisco Miranda, also of August Supply.

Schilling comes to WAXIE as a former owner in the JanSan distribution industry and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience. As a strategic account executive for WAXIE, Schilling will use his expertise in the Northern California marketplace to deliver WAXIE''s legendary service and unsurpassed quality of products known to the industry since 1945.

Chairez and Miranda, who both have extensive industry experience, will serve WAXIE as sanitary maintenance consultants and will work out of WAXIE''s Livermore facility in Northern California where they will join the existing distribution team of over 55 professionals.

System4™ Commercial Cleaning forms strategic alliance with CMI
System4 is excited to announce their ground-breaking partnership with the renowned Cleaning Management Institute (CMI).

This partnership is the first of its kind in the industry. Scott Kubec, master support manager at System4, underwent intensive training to earn the title of CMI Master Trainer. System4''s implementation of the CMI Custodial Training Program includes certifying all System4 operations managers as Certified CMI Trainers.

The operations managers will work with System4''s 700 existing and all-new franchise owners to certify them as Basic and Advanced Custodial Technicians. The training includes eight modules of both classroom instruction and hands-on procedural instruction; certification is attained after successfully passing two exams that will be verified by CMI.

Pro-Link starts ‘09 with four new members
Four well-established janitorial distributors have recently become new members of Pro-Link, a JanSan focused marketing and buying group based in Canton, MA.

The four new members are:

  • KIC Inc., Greenville, SC
  • Superior Janitorial Sales and Services, Jacksonville, FL
  • American Champion Supply, Asheville, NC
  • American Chemical Co., Charlotte, NC.

Environmental Systems Inc. acquires ECC Controls
Environmental Systems Inc. (ESI) has acquired ECC Controls Inc. (ECC) in a strategic growth move that expands ESI''s technology offerings and its Midwest presence.

ESI provides a wide range of technology and services in the areas of building automation, systems integration, networking and IT infrastructure, security, life safety, building operations and software applications in Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan.

ECC provides temperature controls, building automation, energy management and security systems in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan.

ECC''s employees and operations have been integrated into ESI. The ECC Milwaukee location has moved to the ESI facility in Waukesha, WI.
