A Familiar Face Returns To Kaivac

Hygiene Specialist Excellence Award Granted

Janet Altman, a hygiene specialist at Benewah Community Hospital, is the recipient of UMF Corporation''s first annual Hygiene Specialist Excellence Award.

Altman was nominated by her Environmental Services Manager Eula Needham and was honored for her outstanding skills and efforts to maintain the hospital''s hygiene standards to help prevent the spread of hospital-associated infections (HAI).

ProTeam Delivers 2010 Representative Awards

Electrolyzed Water Controversy Continues

Nilfisk-Advance Inc. has released a third set of independent test results related to Tennant Company''s electrically converted water (ec-H2O) technology that showed no performance difference between cleaning with a Tennant scrubber using ec-H2O and the same scrubber using only plain tap water.

The tests — results of which can be viewed here: — measured the cleaning performance of ec-H2O relative to plain tap water using Hucker''s soil, an industry-recognized soil containing no petroleum products that is used to test the performance of surface cleaners.

CleanMaster Is Now U.S. Products

U.S. Products has announced that CleanMaster equipment will now be marketed under the U.S. Products brand name.

Combining the two companies under one name will help strengthen the U.S. Products brand, bolster manufacturing capabilities, improve distribution of both product lines and create new marketing opportunities for each company.

Fish Window Cleaning Recognized

Fish Window Cleaning has been ranked number 30 among the top 50 large franchise systems recognized in Franchise Business Review''s 2011 Franchisee Satisfaction Awards.

In addition to being named a top large franchise system, Fish also was listed as a top franchise in the services category, as well as one of the 2011 top low-cost franchises requiring an average investment of less than $100,000.

IEHA And HFI Announce Partnership

The International Executive Housekeepers Association (IEHA) and the Healthy Facilities Institute (HFI) have announced an educational partnership to develop and promote the role of cleaning professionals in creating healthy indoor environments.

As part of the partnership, HFI will promote Integrated Cleaning and Measurement (ICM) as well as other IEHA initiatives that make the connection between health, housekeeping and facility operations.

Perkins Paper Commits To Protecting The Environment

Perkins Paper Inc. has announced a fundamental commitment to protect the environment by becoming an ENERGY STAR partner.
