New VOC regulations and limitations

LINCOLNWOOD, IL — Numerous new state volatile organic compound (VOC) limitations for cleaning product formulations became effective at the beginning of 2009, according to a press release from the International Sanitary Supply Association (ISSA).

To read about the more aggressive VOC limits for products in California, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, visit, the release noted.
Effective in 2009, California, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan and New Jersey prohibit the sale of certain cleaning products containing methylene chloride, perchloroethylene and trichloroethylene, the release added.
