WASHINGTON — The Soap and Detergent Association (SDA), in conjunction with the Lewisville, Texas-based Cleaning for a Reason Foundation, is sponsoring the first-ever “National Cleaning for a Reason Week” April 26-May 2, according to a press release.
Cleaning for a Reason is a non-profit organization that offers no-cost professional housecleaning services once a month for four months to women undergoing cancer treatment, the release stated.
Nancy Bock, SDA vice president of education, said: "Cleaning for a Reason provides peace of mind to women undergoing treatment for cancer so that they can concentrate on their health. Ensuring that patients have a clean environment when immune systems are compromised is a true gift that our partners are providing in 44 states."
The SDA is a strong supporter of Cleaning for a Reason and also serves on their board of directors, the release noted.
The “National Cleaning for a Reason Week” hopes to spread the word about how proper and safe cleaning in the home is making a difference in the lives of women in need, the release added.
