MECHANICVILLE, NY — Officials at Mechanicville Elementary School are confirming a case of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), according to Your News Now.
Since the case was discovered last week, custodians have taken extra precautions to disinfect classrooms, bathrooms and door knobs, the article stated.
According to the article, Principal Stephen Marra doesn''t believe the infected person was ever in the school while he/she was contagious, but the school remains vigilant to make sure it doesn''t spread.
Parents are reminded to encourage their children to wash their hands frequently throughout the day to help stop the spread of germs, the article noted.
