Monday''s Ask the Experts question from a cleaning professional on the International Custodial Advisors Network (ICAN) "Ask the Experts" page: Is there a standard percentage rate that I can use to accurately calculate the cost of paper products and supplies for an account? Like 40 percent of the monthly billing?
The answer:
No. There are too many variables to calculate your costs in that fashion.
If I had to guess I''d say maybe 3 percent to 5 percent for paper products and 2 percent to 3 percent for cleaning supplies would be a safe number in most accounts. If it''s a small account, just add in 12 percent for all of it and forget it.
