FORT MYERS, FL — Starting this month, people who test for mold and remove it will have to have a state license, according to The News-Press.
"I''ve been anticipating it for three years now, since when it was announced in July 2007," said Dan Reid of Intuitive Environmental Solutions, a Fort Myers-based mold-assessing company.
"It''s going to take out a lot of people who in my opinion should not be doing it. They took the four- or eight-hour course and they are now ''certified,''" Reid stated.
According to the article, under the new regulations, existing mold inspectors and remediators have until March 1 to submit evidence of three years of experience to the state Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
