ORCHARD MESA, CO — Four-year-old Alyssa is all too familiar with visits to doctors, dermatologists and the emergency room, according to KJCT-TV.

Since she began going to the local Head Start, Alyssa developed an itchy reaction, which she must treat with prescribed steroids and a variety of other medications, the article stated.

According to the article, when a mold infestation was discovered in the building, Alyssa''s mother couldn’t help but wonder if that was what was making her daughter sick.

"During summertime, she is not sick. When she goes back to school, it seems like she''s sick all the time,” said Morgan Sanchez, Alyssa''s mother.

"It gets so bad that I can''t even send her to school because she''s afraid other little kids will make fun of her," Sanchez added.

Sanchez has requested a copy of the mold report in order for her daughter''s doctor to determine if the mold is a source of her illness, but so far she has been denied access to that report, the article noted.
