MONTREAL — A Montreal elementary school could be closed for two years because of widespread mold contamination, according to CBC News.
On Tuesday, the public health department recommended the Saint-Gérard School be closed after conducting tests that found the majority of rooms to be contaminated with mold, the article stated.
According to the article, other schools in the board''s jurisdiction have had problems with mold in the past.
Diane de Courcy, the chair of the Commission Scolaire de Montréal, said the board plans to conduct tests on all of their 200 schools, but not all at once due to the costs involved, the article noted.
