CHATTANOOGA, TN — Residents of the Hixson Court Apartments have had a rather unpleasant experience with their living arrangements thanks to an incessant mold problem, according to WRCB-TV.
Matthew Manning, who has been forced to seek medical treatment for his daughter after mold overtook her room, says the Hixson Court Apartments sent someone over to clean the problem — but the efforts were fruitless, the story stated.
According to the story, mold is now visible on every window sill in the apartment and is spreading to other areas.
Because of their lease agreement, the Mannings are forced to pay nearly $700 in rent to move out and several hundred more dollars in moving expenses, the story noted.
The manager of the Hixson Court Apartments, who mentioned nothing about compensating the Mannings for the inconveniences they have experienced, says the mold problem will be fixed once the family moves out, the story added.
